Persistent Concussion Symptoms

Including Post Concussion Syndrome

Counselling

Adults, Youth 12+, Couples & Families

Clients are provided a safe, non-judgemental space to identify their specific concussion

outcomes, impacts on their daily functioning and relationships, and develop healthy coping and goals. Individuals are supported to create a plan to manage their ongoing symptoms and work collaboratively with me every step of the way. For couples and families, education is provided to help them understand the unique concussion experience of the person they care about. The goal of this is to strengthen relationships, and build resiliency together. Concussion services are designed to address persistent symptoms that are impacting the daily lives of people who have had one or more concussions.

Return to School Support

Returning to high school or college/university after a concussion can be difficult. I offer collaboration and communication with other healthcare professionals, school-based professionals and parents/caregivers of youth 12+ or adults to assist with an individualized return to learn plan.

Return to Work Support

Being off work due to concussion, especially for an extended period of time, can take an emotional toll due to lack of structure/routine and meaning. Exploring the barriers to returning to work can include improving communication strategies, enhancing your social networks, and exploring your expectations for recovery. I have specific experience in working with employers and insurance companies to design return to work
accommodations and provide concussion recovery education if this is needed.
